This work on paper is recorded in the Archipenko Foundation with the work number 5896 and will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the works on paper.

Early provenance entries are pending further research. A document from 1934 notes that Falk sold a collage to Cassirer Gallery (no date of the transaction mentioned). And, a different reference mentions that Marcus Oliver acquired a collage from Darius Talyarken in 1939.

The Foundation records just ten known collages by Archipenko from 1912-1913. Two are with the Archipenko Foundation, including the present work, four are in museums (Museum of Modern Art, New York (ID786); Fundacion Mapfre, Madrid (ID736); Moderna Museet, Stockholm (ID802); and Philadelphia Museum of Art (ID792) and three in private collections.
